Rules of the Game
Using our new free BBQ Finder smartphone app (download here), you can now check-in wherever you happen to be enjoying a delicious pile of smoked meat, and engage in a little friendly competition with other app users via our Leaderboard.
How does the scoring system work? Easy. You get five points each time you check in at a new joint and one point for every subsequent check-in. (The formula is weighted this way to reward trying new places.) The more places you hit, the more points you get—and the higher you go up the Leaderboard. So grab your smartphone and get busy.
You’ll also notice that after you get a few joints—and ribs—under your belt, your check-ins will bump you to higher and higher levels of attainment. Are you a “Serious Enthusiast” a “Meat Head” or a “Pit Pundit”? Time to find out.
The Leaderboard is always open, and constantly changing. All app users start at zero, no matter how many joints they may have been to in the past. There are no prizes for making it up to the top of the heap; except, of course, some serious braggin’ rights.
Happy eating!
